Experimental Mods

UPDATE: v4.2e is now deprecated - please download the latest instead.

I've been trying out some crazy minfree settings and I have a set that seems to work fantastic for me, so here they are:
For those who are comfortable modifying init files directly, you just need to change minfree values in 99imoseyon to 15000,20000,20000,20000,20000,25000, and reboot.  For others, just flash the zip over the previous version.

Give it a try for a day or two and let me know what you guys think.  Comment here on any changes you notice in speed, battery life, FCs, etc.

  1. I flashed the v4.2e others zip running darkslide and when I run the command pgrep -f crond I don't get any numbers or anything after it. Any thoughts?

  2. Been runnings it a day although I just changed the init.d 99imoseyon file. Running fine for me. Although I notice it kills services like fb and twitter notifications.

  3. jregruit, that could happen but even at stock settings these services will die frequently and restarted by zygote.

db306, hmm which version of darkslide?

  4. Running pretty smooth for me. fb notifications haven't really been working for me for a while, and they're a little annoying anyway. Battery life is hard to judge, whenever I make tweaks I mess with the phone for a while, killing the battery. I didn't use it much yesterday and the battery life seemed about normal. So far so good, thanks!

  5. Battery life for me has been much better with this, been running since the 24th and it is a noticeable boost compared to the other update.zip you have. Like clockwork I usually have 10-15% battery left after work but now its at 30% everyday. liberty 1.5 under volted and overclocked. Thanks!

  6. Battery is life is impressively better. [from 7:00-11:30, still at 90%] Liberty 1.5 stock clock speed (still working out some reboot issues before overclocking). All around snappiness of the UI is better and doesn't seem to bog down as quickly. Thanks a ton.

  7. Looks like RubiX 2.0 does not use some of the cpufreq files anymore. Drod has made changes on the cpu scaling configurations. I have not had too much time to look into what he has changed/moved.
BTW. You are doing awesome stuff with your tweaks. Thanks for the work you have put into these.
